Plus-Size AT_AT

The "Plus-Size AT-AT" has the same playability and basic structure of LEGO's AT-AT sets, but with greater size, more detail, and a little more than 2x the parts.

It's intended to be a serviceable and hopefully well-proportioned "UCS" AT-AT for people who don't want to break the bank.

Happy building.

Thanks to Legolijntje for creating the .pdf instructions.

UPDATE (Mar. 14, 2017): Updated instructions (V6) now available for download.  This version corrects a few minor issues.  If you ordered parts before Mar. 14, 2017, 8x lbg jumper plates on the "ankles" have been replaced with 2x2 round tiles (a mod a lot of builders were making, anyway).

UPDATE (April 2017):  u/FatumStultorum on reddit made a UCS sticker graphic for the model, if anyone would like to use it.  It's available here:  (2.5 x 5 inch print size should fit tile).

As always, feel free to let us know if you have any issues with the model or have any questions.

hello , sorry I’m very late  I don’t know if it is necessary to already have one and buy the extra parts or just buy the parts ?
    • 1 week, 6 days ago Galgo Level 6
you can do both from what i see, i bought every part, but if you own the smaller version you only buy a little less parts :) use build/compare set feature in rebrickable too see wich parts you dont need anymore then
  • 3 weeks, 1 day ago brickaddict56 Level 4
I built this set a few months ago using the majority of my spare parts and a few bricklink orders and I'm so thankful for it. raskolnikov (you legend) thanks so much for providing ucs collectors an affordable and perfectly serviceable "UCS" AT-AT. I strongly reccomend this build for anyone thinking of building one.

I'm wondering if I can use the side guns on the head and mount them on the original one. Same with the Cockpitglass.
  • 1 month ago macetat Level 6
I got really a load of original Lego sets and also Mocs, this one is my favorite piece. Right balance between tiles and studs on the surface, with a height of 44-45 cm it´s big and detailed. Just a great model of an iconic Star Wars vehicle! In my eyes there is no better AT-AT right now out there, unless you want to invest a 1000 Euros... Thumbs up!!!

I just ordered the parts for this moc and can't wait for all the parts to show up. however, I couldn't help but to see that there are no minifigs in the parts list. can you provide a list of minifigs?

What an amazing MOC! I just finished building it and it was so cool. It looks so realistic. I watched the movie again and again and this MOC is so close to the original. I would definitly reccommand everyone who loves the AT AT to build this one. And a big thank you for the free instructions. The manual is great and works perfectly. Thank you so much!

could you use bionicle ball joint for the legs of the at at that it can move a lot more
    • 10 months, 2 weeks ago raskolnikov Level 10 Designed this MOC
Hmm, it probably needs the stability of the large technic hinges.
      • 10 months, 2 weeks ago Sowneyy Level 4

        • 10 months, 2 weeks ago Sowneyy Level 4

Hello, your atat is amazing!! I just have a little question if I have 1 or 2 at at from lego can I build your or I'll need specific part for yours?
    • 11 months, 2 weeks ago raskolnikov Level 10 Designed this MOC
It uses a number of pieces from the official set, but you'd need to purchase most of it. Click on the inventory tab above to see the parts list.

Hi just new here. Can anyone explain that, when i click "buy" there is a list of shops with % of items and prices (which varies astronomically!!). When clicked on "buy" behind the shop name you re redirected and price becomes suddenly 50 to 100 euros more?!
@raskolnikov: your creations are incredible. Had nothing with Lego until i ran into a youtube of yours couple days ago (Tyrant) and started drooling.

I currently have 83% of this build and hope to someday build it. Great job by the way, I could never do something like that!
  • 1 year, 2 months ago tufnutdragon1 Level 2
very coolbut where do the 4  11203 pieces go
    • 1 year, 2 months ago raskolnikov Level 10 Designed this MOC
Pages 90-91, but there's nothing critical about using those particular pieces. Could be swapped out with regular 2x2 plates if you want.

Awesome build, nice detail. Thanks for the instructions.
  • 1 year, 4 months ago Heinz551 Level 10 MOC Designer PRO
I have just finished building this.

What a brilliant MOC this is, far better than any AT-AT set released by Lego and most definatly up to UCS standard! A very enjoyable build, a bit of a challenge in places. Just the way I like it! The instructions were very clear, just as good as those made by the Lego group themselves! I would most definatly recomend this MOC to any Lego Star Wars fan!

  • 1 year, 7 months ago savitar Level 4
Hey, I built an at at last based on your instructions. It is sensational! Is there any chance for you to make a .lxf file available to you? I want to start building a mock battle hoth model and this model would be extremely helpful
  • 1 year, 11 months ago Rob.Boyle85 Level 4
Just to say I'm in the middle of building this at the moment, and it's great. This is my first time building a MOC with parts from bricklink...

I've been suffering with anxiety and stress from work for a while and having a big complicated lego project to lose myself in when I get home is really helping me to take my mind off things, clear my head and be able to unwind.

I just wanted to say a massive thank-you for posting this and making it available for free.

Thanks a lot for this.  Wife and I just finished building it and enjoyed it very much.  It's a great design and pretty sturdy, too.
  • 2 years ago enamic5 Level 6
thank you very much for creating this! I just  completed the model (together with some help by my 3-year old girl and 5-year-old boy. They love it too. Not sure if I will let them play with it, otherwise it will look like a Jakku variant, but the set is brilliant.
Now all I need to do is figure out a way to add the hatch / door  to the side wall panels.
  • 2 years ago Erdagguey Level 7
Just ordered all parts i could find at bricklinks. Kinda hard to get those 2x2 flat plates in light bluis grey.  Already got 2 times the wrong color.

Cant wait to start to build this MOC and start the next one

  • 2 years, 1 month ago antttt Level 3
Hi this moc is very beatifull. Have you done it alone ? Do you know the price if I buy if I buy all the pieces in the same time ? And what's the best buy all the pieces in same time or buy pieces small to small ?

    Thanks to your answer
    • 2 years, 1 month ago raskolnikov Level 10 Designed this MOC
Thanks, I designed the MOC but it draws inspiration from the official sets.

The Buy Parts tab above should give you some options for buying parts on bricklink. You may need to buy different parts from different sellers to get the best price.

  • 2 years, 1 month ago Lazy8 Level 7
It was a great build.  Thank about so much for the hard work.

hi, i've a little question about update, we can print the presentation sticker, but what is size of this ? (if i don't change size of pic) ^^
  • 2 years, 2 months ago cwalker81 Level 3
this looks absolutely fantastic! i've gathered all the parts and will gift this with a bound printout of the instructions to my nephew for christmas. one question / advice request: how do you think the parts should be separated, if at all? right now i have each part type in its own numbered ziploc baggy, which is great for me gathering the pieces but might take the fun out of actual assembly. should i keep them in these bags, dump them all together in a huge bag (!) or separate them differently? nephew is 11 and has assembled some biggish sets before but nothing close to this magnitude. thanks so much - this will be the highlight of his christmas for sure.
    • 2 years, 2 months ago raskolnikov Level 10 Designed this MOC
That sounds like a great idea, I hope he enjoys it. Assuming you haven't finished your wrapping yet, I'd recommend keeping the bricks separated. But either ways is probably fine :)
      • 2 years, 2 months ago cwalker81 Level 3
Thank you for that! Yes I'll keep the pieces bagged by part number. Will have a separately bound copy of the parts list which he can references as he goes through the instructions. Will try to share photos once done - thank you again for this!
  • 2 years, 2 months ago VeryPieced Level 4
Wow... I remember seeing one of these builds and it is really cool! All the other mocs are so big and detailed and so expensive, but this is perfect! Nice work, and sorry if I am late
  • 2 years, 2 months ago adazlego Level 4
Raskolnikov, you are a brilliant builder! Your MOCs are awesome! I collect parts of this at-at (now 80%). Hard to find item: dish 5x5 scala lbg color... any help for this part? In realistic price!
    • 2 years, 2 months ago raskolnikov Level 10 Designed this MOC
Hrm, looks like you can get them for $1 on bricklink, which is steep for a single part but not too bad. The AT-AT doesn't have too many rare parts like that, but I figured those were worth it. You also can substitute for a dark bluish gray one if you want, but it's a fairly prominent piece on the head so you'd have to make sure you're ok with that.
      • 2 years, 2 months ago adazlego Level 4
I have problem with the shipping prices, everything else is available in hungary except this parts... anyway i have to order this from abroad. Thx, a lot! :)
