Cool, looks like it belongs in Death Race.

Yeah, I'm kind of obsessed with the HP sets, it started when I found Gringotts in Goodwill for $1 complete, then went from there.  First new one I got was the last one of original run the large Diagon Alley set.  Then everything new since then, and about 1/2 of the older stuff I missed.  Some of the older small sets have some interesting play/build techniques in them one thing that comes to mind in the plant in 4706 Forbidden Corridor.  I was surprised how well that simple flopping mechanism worked, little things like that.
Then the odd unique pieces just for 1 set, like how Dueling Lesson is the only set that has the single round stud in Sand Green, really make a tiny part in that color for only 1 set?  I realize it is just dumping different color plastic into a machine that day, but still, odd.

I like it a lot, and with a few color changes would make a nice haunted/Halloween/Scooby Doo  set.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Thanks for a nice H.P. set review.  I am a huge fan of the H.P. stuff and have well over half of everything ever made for it (about 70 sets, plus all minifigs).  I started too late collecting for it.  This set is one of the few new ones that I don't have yet, and I am looking forward to it, probably for Christmas.  Last year I got the amazing 6000+ piece set and really enjoyed that.
Very nice job on the review and descriptions of the parts of the build.  I wonder if they used a different hair piece for Harry since his hair was done up for the ball, not its usual messy state?
I hope they keep making more H.P. themed sets.  I also like how they are making some of the newer ones mimicking the theme of unobtainable older ones.
Also, I do like the modular idea, but not new to H.P. at all, 4842 and 4867 are that way, and the 4709 castle could sit on multiple of the class room sets that year.
